After emerging from a jam session as a four-piece band, a rehearsal weekend in the summer of 2015 resulted in a spontaneous self-produced EP “lunch” with songs including the life of a “Panini”, a “Hot & Spicy” pizza and danceable “Scrambled Eggs” . Saxophone and percussion were added to the band, new material was written, a crowd-fund action to record an album passed with 120% and in April 2016 the band went into the studio. The debut album “Tektonics”  2016 appeared on October 7th on CD and streaming services and a number of video clips surfaced on YouTube.

The Wakki music appeals to many people because there are a lot of different genres thrown in the mix. For everyone there is something recognizable, whether it is Snarky Puppy, James Brown, Pink Floyd, Avishai Cohen, Bob Marley, Led Zeppelin or Santana. Wakki is an adventure you can listen to and at the same time want to move on, where complex rhythms are put down in a danceable way with narrative themes and true musical freedom in numbers ensures that every performance is different.
